I love the fall for its explosions of colour, the sudden chill, the wind, the rustling of the leaves, the hills of produce on the farmers market, the thick clouds, the breakthroughs of warm sunshine. On our way into town yesterday i passed the first chestnut by the side of the road and was surprised of my own sudden crow. I cannot believe that a few weeks ago i was still in flip flops, skirts, with sunscreen on my shoulders. And now, within two days, the temperature dropped 15 degree Celsius and i contemplate whether it is time to put on gloves!
This was our bike tour yesterday. A group of local couchsurfers and friends rode to Dexter along Huron River Drive. We enjoyed donuts and hot apple cider at the Cider Mill, the colourful, beautiful scenery, and just had a really good time.
I have a feeling of never-ending cups of tea, knitting socks, sipping hot chocolate in the morning, sleep-ins and watching the sun rise, biting a crisp apple, putting more and more scarfs on, getting lost with a good book, cuddling up on the sofa to watch a movie, sending snail mail, dreaming of the last summer, childishly rushing through leaves, revelling in pumpkin ice cream, taking walks after lunch, being a hardcore biker no matter temperature or rain, endless hours with Lisa Hannigan and Ray LaMontagne, cooking large pots of soup, always forgetting to bring an umbrella with me, ...
