| here at last |
OK, and a bus and an airplane.
If you ask me, Oslo is a crossing of Zürich and Sarajevo. But don't ask me why. i wouldn't know how to explain that feeling. Maybe it is the way a modern city embraces dirt and rottenness. It definitely has its appeal. I like them Zürich and Sarajevo very much. So does that mean i like Oslo? Probably. I lost one of my favourite earrings here. Which means that a part of ``me'' will always stay ;-).
This morning i discovered a waterfall right in the centre. How many capitals can show off with a waterfall? Water is omnipresent here. I'd give a lot for having a waterfall back home. Like right in front of my bedroom and its sound singing me to sleep every night.
My PhD supervisor would certainly question my capabilities if i told him the story of how i mismanaged finding the museum he recommended. I feel embarrassed to share that adventure with you, but be told that my language and orientation skills lost me heroically this Sunday. it cost me a lot of kilometres and offered a peak at local industrie. I treated myself to a big gelato ice cream to quieten the mind... (who would have thought - they sell liquorice ice cream around here - ju's excited)
And, then there is much that makes me wonder. Like why all the young people wear red pants. Why everything is so expensive. Why there is almost no organic food to find. Why energy does not cost anything. Why the people around here get up so early (i really like that). Why it is so easy to immigrate (i like that even better). And why - so i am told - so many Norwegians apparently live in the United States.
One thing that i found quite dramatic is Vigeland Park. If i could just walk there with you.
Such a convenience to listen to the Kings when this city is all around me. The air is sooo fresh up here.
