Berlin, my mornings, 100 m of photos, des amis et les courts métrages

I am sitting here, enjoying my early morning. True, it is an extended early morning already, since by now it is past 9 AM and i have been up for four hours and a half. Yesterday the routine kicked in and i welcomed it with an open heart. After starting our practice at 6 AM until last week we switched to five on Sunday, because the sun keeps rising earlier and earlier. In summer, the sun and heat will have moved our Sadhana practice forward to half past three AM. But i don't think about that at the moment. At 4:40 AM when my alarm went off today i lay with a clear mind and greeted the new day that had not yet met the sun. I walked over to the studio and relished the quiet in the streets. Like every day. It feels as if the city is yet innocent, young as a child, and if i stepped too loud or made a noise i could disrupt it in its beautiful, restful sleep. So i walk at silent pace, like a feather.

Spring is in the air. I can hear birds singing, like us they get up earlier each morning. Only the air is so cold still. It is rough on the face when out. Yesterday morning we walked out into fresh snow to bid farewell to two of our friends who are in New-Delhi by now. Meanwhile i have invited the spring to be my guest on my window sill. Another day is already here, i know it will be wonderful. Wonderful, because it will turn me into a visitor this afternoon and into a listener tonight! At the moment i cannot decide what i am more excited about!

Today i am thinking warmly about my good friend in Paris. We have a project in the pipe for some yet unknown, distant future, but until then we just enjoy our friendship. José Luis keeps sending me his recommendations and pointers to intriguing visual art projects and movies i have to have seen imperatively (!). This time his pointers are so awesome, i want to share them with YOU, my dear reader! The first one is 100 m of pictures shot on the Warschauer Strasse bridge - i live very close by in 5 minutes walking distance. I am amazed of what faces and things we, the people carry around with us. The next one is an animated short movie, a little bloody, but i love the idea. I would like to see one with birds, flowers, summer and pretty girls! Do you know of any by any chance? Then let me know. In the meantime i start dreaming about it : ). In fact, this one comes very close. It is what i sometimes dream of to meet you again, sooner than soon. And, the last one is just stunning. The more i think about it, the more it makes me ponder. I see myself doing some simple deed, touching all kinds of objects that were made possible by many, many hands ...

Thank you, my friend. For being you. I give you an oldie in return. A souvenir of other good times, and a warm thought before good times yet to happen.
